Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On my 500sl, the abs and asr lights come on.  Then it will occasionally shut off
when braking over bumps.

The ABS light is most probably due to a dirty wheel speed sensor. It's located in front of the brake caliper assembly. You will see a large connector on it and a wire going to it. Remove the one screw and pull it out. On the end is a magnet, clean that area real good and reinstall.
