Dodge neon 2001 HELP FIRST CAR

My dodge neon keeps overheating it has a
leak I don't know from where I put water in
it to keep it cool but it makes a funny
sound when it's over heats help please
what can it be .

well the first thing you should do is have a Pressure test done, I add Food color to the water it does not hurt the car, and it helps you find where it is leaking, it is getting hot, and leaking I would start with Water pump, DO NOT DRIVE IT IF IT IS GETTING HOT YOU CAN LOSE THE MOTOR, ! they are not made to take a lot of heat, you can also check for Head gasket, that is Other test, it is easy and fast

My neon had the same trouble, on the first time was the cap has a leakege, and after that appear a leakege on the case of cap. You imagine a series of trouble and the problem is a single seal.
