Do i have to buy a new transmission or could it be something simple?

My 2000 chevy sillverado only goes into 1st but i cant feel
secound go thru, its goes at 3000 rpm at 45 mph and 4000
rpm at 60 mph i been running it like this for about 2 months
but i havent had time to go to a mechanic and i dont wanna
buy a whole tranmissionif it something i can do for less
money

GM uses input from the MAF sensor to help determine shifting points. Try cleaning the MAF sensor first to see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't, you're probably looking at a transmission rebuild.
