When replacing clutch did you happen to look at the reverse gear teeth? If not that's ok we will start with the easy things first. #1 (assuming fluid levels are good) check transmission position sensor, #2 check the valve body, it may be worn out and need resurfacing (automatic transmission) #3 (can be done while examining the valve body) condition of fluid. May need flushed and filter replaced. From there I would examine the reverse teeth for damage such as broken teeth

Lost 5th gear in a manual transmission, all the other gears work fine. Is their a way to adjust the linkage or is their a bolt in the transmission that can be adjusted.
