2016 hyundai sonata engine replacement

Asked by Guru91BTW5 Dec 16, 2021 at 06:17 AM about the 2016 Hyundai Sonata SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2016 Hyundai with 143,000 miles on it and Hyundai refuses to
replace the engine. I have had severe oil loss for 2 years I have gone
through all the oil consumption test to get the replacement and when the
dealers get to the end of the tests I get told no by the company. I was told by
the dealers that I would be better off for the engine to seize then they will
replace it. So the engine has seized and still they will not replace it. what to
do next?

If you have it in writing that they would replace it if it seized then you have them and they will need to replace it, if they still say no then get in touch with your local BBB and the public DA. However if you did not get it in writing then your screwed. If that is the case then options are limited, you could sell it as is way is, fins a good used engine and have it installed then drive it until it fails again or sell it quick. Expensive lesson but now you why theses vehicles as well as others are on the do not buy list.

That sounds like the engine lawsuit recall. It's for safety because some of these engines catch on fire or just shut down due to hybrid failure. Check your VIN for Recall 198 & Service Campaign 966. This is an actual lawsuit. I would recommend looking it up. Thay HAVE to replace it.

BBB has an arbitration if you can't get any help from Hyundai. https://bbbprograms.org/programs/all-programs/class-action-arbitration-program/hyundai- engine-settlement-theta-class-action? utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=class-action-arbitration- 2023&utm_term=hyundai%20class%20action&utm_campaign=AF+- +Class+Action+Arbitration+- +Conversions&utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=ppc&hsa_acc=4957948917&hsa_ca m=19480144553&hsa_grp=148498340601&hsa_ad=643724988915&hsa_src=g&hsa_tgt= kwd- 325060879144&hsa_kw=hyundai%20class%20action&hsa_mt=b&hsa_net=adwords&hsa _ver=3&gclid=CjwKCAjwrpOiBhBVEiwA_473dEo53QR5FgL1G- LfRxNWUMtSZfOMErlFToEtImPTf-O64DzqprhvVRoCJuoQAvD_BwE
