Battery Replaced/ Noisy acceleration

Asked by GuruTLC4S Jun 28, 2018 at 03:45 PM about the 2016 Kia Soul !

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had the battery replaced in a 2016 Kia Soul.  After I drove away from the shop, I noticed that when I accelerated, I heard a noise that was not there before.  It's almost like the noise that small cars make when they are modified to sound like they don't have a muffler.  Any clue as to how this happened and how I can fix it?

Hello, I just had the battery changed on my 2014 Kia Rio. The same issue you described is exactly what I'm experiencing. I checked all over and it turns out that the loss of electrical supply can erase the memory stored in the computer, which can cause a host of issues: transmission regulation, radio controls lost, etc. It would seem we might have the transmission issue. The dealership can reset the computer setting which will solve the issue. I know this post is old but hopefully your situation has been solved.
