I am thinking of buyin a 2005 ex element. Great shape. Origional owner. But it has 209k on it. Is this too high of a risk to take?

I tend to agree with Tom too. If you are seriously interested, it may be worth a couple hundred to have the dealership perform a pre-purchase inspection. Also, you say this is the original owner, review their service records. If the car has been up north, or is an ocean community, be sure to check for rust. So all that said, if you are getting a great deal and bank an additional thousand or so for unexpected costly repairs, it may be the way to go.My service guys have always said the Elements are pretty "bullet proof" when properly maintained, oil changes, etc. Good luck!
