Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have recently purchased a 2016 Chevy Malibu LT 1.5L Turbo. What is the
normal operating temperature for the engine coolant? I have seen anywhere
from 196F to 215F while driving in 80-85F ambient temperature.

Thanks Mark, I thought a 20 degree delta was a bit too much for driving in cooler weather. It's still under dealer warranty so, I'll have them look at it.

LOL, because I glanced at the bottom of your answer and seen "Mark HAD the best answer", only to realize that it said Mark best answer right after I clicked on the post tab, Please accept an apology someone who reads faster than he thinks! I'm a first time user of the forum (obviously). The dealer gave us a 30 day bumper to bumper when we bought it. (Plus, I'm friends with the owner)
