2003 Honda Accord EX VTEC 2.4 l

Asked by GuruZQLCB Nov 12, 2017 at 06:15 PM about the 2003 Honda Accord EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The engine overheated in my 2.4 liter 2003 Honda
Accord 4 cylinder and I noticed that in the back left
corner of the valve cover where there's normally a
bolt holding the valve cover down to the block
there was what look like to be the remnants of a
hardened rubber boot and a boat completely
missing it was kind of hidden by the silver foil like
insulated wrapping around a pipe

Sorry I'm not a dumb Alabama redneck that word was supposed to be bolt Bolt and the problem is I'm having a hard time getting the car to turn back over the engine will turn but it's not cranking probably because that bolts missing correct

A missing valve cover bolt would not cause the engine not to start. If the engine is turning (but not starting), then it is back to basics. Check for spark at the spark plug wires. Check for fuel in the system. Next you check timing and compression. How bad was the engine overheated?
