Duct work controls

Asked by Robert Oct 26, 2016 at 09:11 PM about the 2003 Honda Accord LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Switch controls to defrost windshield. Blows out of sides and floor but, not
center. Changes to other vents.
Is there a separate motor for this or is it vacuum operated.
It doesn't have dual climate controls.

To answer my own question. Remove the clove box and you will see the side mounted motor that controls the damper doors. Remove the screws and slide the motor back out of the plastic track that moves the dampers. You can then turn on the key and change the air controls and watch the motor it should move . If it doesn't replace the motor. In my case it was just stuck.
