I put too much oil in my car . What’s wrong with it ?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put 4 quarts too much oil in my car . Wasn’t
thinking as I was pouring it in . I drained it and let
the car run at idle for a while but when I took it
down the road it smokes like a steam train and has
no power . Any suggestions?

Check the oil level again on a level surface after 5 minutes of shutting it off.

Assuming you now have the correct amount of oil in it the excess oil will burn off (hopefully). You may have fouled the spark plugs.
