2002 accord 6cyl oil pan leaking

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So the seal (or lack there of) on my 02 accord's oil pan is leaking, so i need
to drop the pan and clean it up and make a new seal, I've already bought
Honda's sealant made specifically for the oil pan, (since the 02 accord's dont
have a gasket, they just use honda's sealant), but it seems that i will have to
remove the down pipe for the exhaust AND the front subframe. I feel
comfortable removing the pipe, but not the subframe, it seems like a major
job and very involved. is there any way to drop the oil pan without removing
the sub frame? any help on this issue would be great thanks!

Did you ever find answers on this job? I have the same issue with my ‘02. You can find all kinds of content on the 4 cyl, but nothing for the 6 cyl.
