Starter trouble - 2002 Honda Accord

Asked by Jerry Apr 27, 2022 at 10:31 AM about the 2002 Honda Accord Value Package

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So, you have this older Honda that's all of a sudden not wanting to start. In
the past 2 weeks, you've had to tap on the starter like 6-7 times to get the
car started.

What is the probability that it just starts working again and has no more
issues for the next 3 years. (This happened to me.)

Junk part , this seems especially true with hondas , that's why you have to pay the price at the dealer for a good part , or dick around with junk from auto zoo . Honda will only accept mitzubishi part for the core . You can try a voltage drop test on the cable or check appropriate fuse for tarnish , grounding surfaces are clean ? batt terminals tight ?

Very unlikely. This is in the same category as banging on a headlight to get a few more days out of it so you can get to the store and buy a new one. It might last another day or a year. Sounds like you got very lucky!! Jim
