Washing my car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hey I was wondering if washing my car
one time with dish soap would effect my
cars paint. I washed it with dish soap
without searching the effects online. I'm
gonna start using actual car soap, so will
my paint be fine?

No, however, you may want to wax the car. When you want to strip the wax off a paint job wash it with dish soap and the wax is off, for the most part, That is why you are reading do not use dish soap to wax a car. Get some Turtle Wax Liquid Synthetic and put a coat or two of it on. It looks like water with a few drops of milk in it but it really works. Then once in a while use a use the Turtle Wax Ice Spray and it keeps the shine up great. Use microfiber towels. You can get it all for 30.00 and do several cars. It only takes a couple of ounces to wax a car.
Eventually dish soap will strip the wax off, how fast depends on how much soap you use. Wax should be applied at least twice a year anyway so no worries. I use a dedicated car wash soap but it is not necessary.
