Engine knock

Changed the oil in my 2006 Chevy ext now there is
a loud knock coming from lower engine could it be
used wrong oil filter

Did you put new oil in after you drain the old oil out? Did you reinstall the drain plug? Sorry, these questions need answers. As Tom asked, what oil and filter did you use. Just changing oil should not cause any noises other than a slight rattle on start up.
