Can radio won't turn on??

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I recently tried to replace my car
radio myself, but now the radio won't
turn on at all, I know for a fact that
it's not a blown fuse, I have no idea
what else the problem could be. If
anyone has any ideas I would truly
appreciate it!!

Did you first hook up the stereo to a battery to see if it even worked before installing it? Did you test your main power wire to see if it was hot before hooking everything up? Not sure what you installed for a deck, but some decks have a tiny 10 amp fuse that fits on the very back of the stereo. Just for starters, I would say that either your main power wire has no juice, or your ground is bad.
Your ground is like your negative (black wire) on your battery. Your stereo has a main power wire (usually red) and a ground wire (black). The black wire has to be attached to something metal. Like some metal piece of frame work.

Do you know how much that would typically cost to fix?
If you tore it apart once, you'll just have to do it again. But this time, test your wire for power. If you want an install shop to do it, they may charge you for 2 hours labor. All depends on where you take it and how much they charge per hour.
