2001 Ford Taurus. Was at a light and when light changed engine just revved but no movement of car. After 2-4 seconds car began moving. Transmission fluid full. What's happening?

Was at a light and when light changed engine just revved but no movement of
car. After 2-4 seconds car began moving. Transmission fluid full. What's
happening? Power seems lacking.

Could be a failing solenoid or the clutch inside the gearbox.

The transmission is not creating enough oil pressure to make it operate properly. This is an indication of a worn out transmission. Should take it to a transmission shop for proper diagnosis.
