2001 Taurus no power at all and clicks without keys

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Drive the car home from work and locked
keys in the car ... took about an hour to get
it open with a coat hanger... tried to start it
and got absolutely nothing... I figured the
battery ran down while I was locked out
but it wouldn't respond at all to a jump ...
and still no electrical control of anything ...
and when I take the keys out there's a
clicking coming from under the steering
wheel somewhere... any ideas?
