2000 Honda Accord LX Dies After City Traffic

Asked by hd625b Jan 18, 2016 at 06:31 PM about the 2000 Honda Accord LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If I drive in stop and go city traffic the car runs fine. When I shut the car off and wait 30 - 40 minutes the car will start but will die. I can start the car and then it dies. If I wait until the car has cooled another 20 - 30 minutes the car will start fine and run normal. The car has about 171k miles. Thanks.

Sounds a lot like the old times "vapor Lock" in the carburetor systems. Possibly flooding due to leaking injector(s).
