Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can't determine which engine in 2007 Taurus...3.0L or 3.0L FFV.  The FFV takes 2 kinds of fuel. the VIN is 1FAFP53U27A157007 Which digit tells me the type of engine?

I believe the SFI refers to the type of fuel injection. Sequential Fuel Injection or something like that.

F_O_R is correct. It's the eighth digit of the VIN for engine identification. "U" is the simple 3.0 liter, twelve valve, Vulcan engine. I don't think the fuel type matters. It's gasoline with various percentages of alcohol. Less alcohol is better.

The Emissions tag under the hood doesn't say which gasoline What does FFV mean?
