2001 Ford Windstar smoking not overheating or running rough

Asked by 73MGBGTS Mar 19, 2018 at 10:29 PM about the 2001 Ford Windstar LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 windstar 3.8 that just started
smoking. No miss or water loss oil is good. Engine
runs fine. Wanted to know if anyone has any
suggestions on what it might be. Thanks in
advance. Has over 240,000 miles.

Have a look at the valve cover gaskets then work your way down from there. Something such as oil or water is leaking or perhaps a blow by issue due to carbon build up. If nothing is found you might consider a compression test given the mileage.
