i have a 2000 honda civic ex vtec 1.6 can 1 put a 1995 vtec 1.6 engine in the car.

I have a 1995 vtec engine that im trying to put into my 2000 Honda Civic ex will it work? Ive also noticed that there is a speed sensor by the crank shaft pulley on the 2000 engine but theres not one on the 1995 engine will this be a problem?

I really asking about the speed sensor located at the crankshaft timing gear. the 2000 engine has one but the 1995 dose not, and there is no place to install a sensor on the 1995. but thanks for the info on the emission transfers.

Naw as long as you get the cpu from the 95 vtec and the wiring harness you should be good that engine will not work with that cpu cause one it's not variable timing and two it's obd || so just make sure to get the gpu and wiring harness and all the sensors that came with the 1.6 vtec
