Should I replace the cracked windshield in the car I will be trading in?

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In
I have an older model honda I want to trade in for a newer model Subaru. The Honda has
about 4 cracks in the windshield but is in good condition otherwise. Should I spend the
money to repair it or will it affect the value of my trade in enough? I've gotten a quote on
the windshield and it's around $250 to replace.

Personally, I wouldn't repair the windshield (it's NOT an expensive fix). I really doubt it would add that much to the trade in value. If the Dealer is willing to accept it as-is, let them repair it. If not, ante up for the repair and factor that cost in with your negotiations on the value of your trade :)
most insurance companines cover windshield replacement
Good point, Jonathan...I was sort of thinking along those lines, but have had only had insurance cover very minor glass repairs (from small stones, etc). I've never had to replace an entire windshield...But in your case, RNikolai, you just might want to file a claim and get your insurance company to cover the cost..or most of it anyway!!
