Why does my car burn?

Jesse doesn't know much about cars. Your Honda doesn't have a carburetor, it's fuel injected. Don't have to worry about the brake fluid or power steering fluid unless they are low. The oil, trans fluid, air and cabin filters should be replaced at this point. If you haven't had the timing belt replaced now would be a good time for that as well.

I would think a 15 year old car DOES need the brake fluid changed and changing the power steering fluid is also a good idea along with the other items you mentioned..

Thanks very much guys! Jesse is of course as fictional as the fire, but nice to see you passing the test :D I can't think of any 1999 series vehicle still using a carburetor... Anyways, Bob, TransAm77, I'm grateful for your insight, but could you give me the names of some generic fluids suitable for this? There's no way I can get North American specific fluids here, so some approximation/substitute must do. The timing belt is what connects the engine with the drivetrain, right? None of these have been replaced so far, except for the oil, but that was the normal 10W40 they give you here everywhere. You have no idea what pain it was to get fitting brake discs for a car of which maybe a dozen are driving in the whole country.

Robert, you can Google almost any fluids for interchangeable ones by typing in the exact name brand and numbers followed by "equivalent"
