Catalytic converter replacement

My apologies, this is a CA car. Want a cheap fix, so I can sell the car.
California cars require the EXACT correct converter as it will not pass smog and you can't sell it in California. The shop that does the work needs to provide you with a certificate showing the work done was correct. California has a database of what is approved and what is not. Ads that claim to have CA approved converters may or may not be correct!
A 20 year old car I would sell as is because a correct catalytic converter replacement might be a grand.
I don't think there is any such thing in California. I did my 2003 Expedition and went through the whole process. California parts are way more expensive than 49 state parts.
Things are simpler outside of this state. ;(
