Changing the power steering fluid

Asked by Guru91XTFS Dec 14, 2021 at 07:44 PM about the 1999 Honda Accord LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 Honda Accord with 188,000 miles on it. The power steering fluid
has never been changed. There is nothing about doing this in the Owner's
Manual. Should I flush and change this fluid?

If it 's brown and burnt smelling then yes , I've heard it shouldn't be " purged " but if you draw out what is in the reservoir the new will mix with the old crap still in the lines , if you do the math it'll take multiple times to get near a majority of it new ., I guess you can pull a line and get all you can but running it dry probably isn't a good idea . That's what I think . I would use honda fluid .
