2015 dodge journey no crank no start ..

2015 dodge journey no crank no start unless starters crossed over
battery good starter good, if i crose over the starter it did start but now its back
to no start,still havent tackled the original problem ,i even checked to see if
timing chain snaped i'm lost here if anyone has run into this before ,maybe a
sensor

I've done every thing i've come across online from neutral with key fob against the push button.Tried the push start button and count to 5 to reset . Disconnected battery to reset pcm or ecm whichever . Starters been changed and its fine . Turns over no problem when cross over with screwdriver.

I'll say ignition switch , Things should be tested to find a problem a multi tester is useful
how can i test it. i got a old ignition from the auto wreaker but that does me no good without the key .is that correct. i looked online and everything I cam across said once a switch is programed to a car it will not work on another . do i need to purcase a new one and do i need the key with it or can the original be used ? and thank you for your imput apreciate it .
