I have a 2001 ford windstar SE. Recently the gas mileage has been very poor. What can be the problem?

That should still be ok then. Might want to check your air filter tho. Any other drivability issues? If not I might would try a can of sea foam in your gas next time you fill up. Also check your oil. If it has a gas smell to it you might have a fuel injector sticking open and leaking gas while engine is off. The sea foam will help if this is the issue also.
