Check battery cables for corrosion and make sure they are tight. If cables are ok, check for bad ground wire. Make sure battery is fully charged

In my 2001 Passport I have an an issue with the Headlughts not turning on sometimes and my issue is in the at the shifter the electrical wires I am thinking are just old and cracked or home over time broken away. You can take your headliner off (clean it as well if you want) and follow the wires to looking for any details that may cause issues. Now that is after you made sure your done light just isnt loose or the bulb going bad.
