my 1998 honda accord has water coming out of the tailpipes causing it to overheat. do i have a blown gasket?

need more info. Cars to build condensation and can spit a few drops or smoke on first start up for a min. But constant while smoke is bad. and gushing water is bad but your car shouldnt run like that.

so its overheating, did you check anything else?? or just jump to the conclusion that you have a blown head gasket? is coolant leaking? does your fan kick on? does the thermostat open?

thanks for your answers,....here is more info,-- it has a new radiator & crank sensor. the aux. fan i th8ink is not working though..thermostat is working..theres white smoke coming out of the exhaust until all the waters gone but there is no milky sustance on the dipstick.......before i changed the radiator, w/c had a cracked lip. the car ran fine as long as you put coolant/water in it constantly... w/ the new radiator now, i think it builds pressure & blew the gaskets...what do you think?..

maybe becasue it overheated and weakened the gaskets. Now that there is pressure they blew. Definatly blown head gasket

did you make sure all the air was out of the cooling system? and did you do the work yourself or did a mechanic do it? do you smell coolant at all when you're driving? i assume its not leaking now?

i think you blow the head gasket as there is no leak then water can only be lost through leaking into the combustion chamber. also is your engine feel lost of power and shakes at idle.

in this case, is it better to change the engine w/ a used 44,000 mile erngine or try to fix it? coz' either way, i may be looking at around $2k, give or take, right?

If the head hasket blows it may just blow between exhaust port and combustiin chamber, leaving the oil alone. This is the best situation if caught early before ur motor hydro-locks up. If your willing to buy a new motor have someone remove the head to see how/if the head gasket blew to see if this is the case.
