I have a 1998 Honda accord ex vtec 4 cyl I replaced the spark pluge and wires and the thermostat and the engine runs fine but when I put it in drive it jerks then it pick up and then jerks again what could be the problem

yes...1998 still has a vacuum advance (I think) these get vacuum leaks in the diaprhagm and/or hose leading to it...might want to examine this for operation/leaking~ silicone, tho more expensive will NEVER decay or go soft...or hard and brittle...like your hoses do apparently...is the standard for BMW and police cruisers everywhere...save a nickel on the cheap...you bet they will~

you might wanna take a look at your distributor cap for lightning blue/black traces of voltages where they shouldn't be indicating a cracked and leakin' the high-voltage, compromising performance~
