Does it have a timing chain or belt

It has a timing belt. Honda went to chains in 2002. And be careful, it's an interference engine, if the belt breaks = major engine damage. Honda says change at 90,000 miles, and far be it for me to contradict the Honda engineers but suggest you don't wait that long. More like 60k -70k. And if you don't know when it was changed, do it

If the miles are low I wouldn't run a timing belt for more than 5 years.
