98 accord

Asked by Coupe_6064 Feb 18, 2017 at 07:01 PM about the 1998 Honda Accord EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 98 honda accord has been nearly perfect, until
recently; going about 70 on the free way the
speedometer dropped to zero and the engine quit.
Then it will start again several seconds later. Any
ideas?

First thing you do is all your spark plugs, cable if all functional. Could it be also the fuel pump. When you turned on the ignition listen if you hear a humming from the rear. Humming sounds indicate that the fuel pump is bad. Clogged fuel filter also can cause stalling. Finally if the car restarts immediately after it stalls, this indicates an electrical problem. Inspect all fuses and have it diagnostic done.
