How can I rewire the electronics in my door to the car?

Asked by WolfmanAndrew Oct 11, 2016 at 10:32 AM about the 1998 Honda Civic DX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a used car and had to replace the
car doors. Originally I had automatic doors
with power windows, but now I have
manual roll down windows and the speaker
plugs to these doors aren't compatible
with the cars female harness. Is there a kit,
converter, or replacement that I can get on
amazon or something?

There may not be a specific plug-in adapter per se, but you could splice wires and use universal connectors, check out radio shacks electrical components section or most auto parts stores electrical components. You don't need to know how to solder to make these connections. Do not cut up or splice your car's original harness, instead make up a short adapter with whatever connectors work, and use that to plug between door and your car's harness.
