I bought a 1997 Honda Accord which, I just discovered, has no heat. The fans work, ac is cold but no warm air comes out. I've been told that it needs a heater core replacement which would cost more then the car is worth. I'd rather use an alternative way of heating. I can't plug anything into the lighter because that doesn't work. Anything run directly to the battery seems to use more power then the car can spare. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'll pass on to you what NOT to do. And that's put a wood stove in it. Even a small one. Believe it or not I knew someone who did that in a Volvo in the 70's. The damn fools almost died. So no open flames!
