I had a Toyota Camry a few years back and it did this same thing. It ended up being a clogged transmission filter. It cost less then $30 and took about 20 minutes to do. It's just like changing your oil. I have an '88 Accord LXI that did this same thing yesterday. So we bought a new filter and some ATF drained the old transmission fluid out. Put the new filter on and poured the new fluid in. Started right up, put it to drive and nothing. Engine revs but car wont move in any gear. When shifting from gear to gear u can't hear it engage. What else could it be?
