Why won't my car move?

I recently changed cv axles. Was about to
change the rack but during the test drive,  
car slowed to a stop and now won't move. It
makes a grinding sound like gears slipping.
Car functioned perfectly previously less
occasional cv 'click'. I thought this would be
a simple off & on repair! What went wrong!

Possibly you over tightened the wheel bearing and they were going bad when you did it?
