Car accelerate without hitting gas pedal

Asked by Lo Mar 11, 2017 at 09:48 AM about the 2010 Hyundai Accent GL 2-Door Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning was -37 celsius here and my car seemed frozen. I went on the
highway with a slight hill when reaching the hill my car would not accelerate
more than 80 km/hr and then when getting the flat road again my car would
accelerate without me accelerating. I put my car on neutral and it made the
same noise as when you hit acceleration and transmission at the same time.
The RPM would continue to increase to 6 (I never get to 6000 rpm).

So I turned off the car.

Any idea what could this be? Anything frozen?
