car over heating/ sometimes won't start.

Asked by Demi Aug 03, 2018 at 11:54 AM about the 1996 Honda Accord EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car over heats when I'm stuck in traffic or if the
car is parked & not moving. When I'm driving, it's
fine. Also, when I go to start the car it makes a
click noise instead of starting. The A/C blows but
is not cold. I just replaced the Thermometer, what
else could be causing it to over heat & sometimes
not start?

You need to "burb" the system. Open the radiator cap Whit engine cold. Start car and let it warm up when thermostat kicks it will push out the air bubble and u can fill the radiator the rest of the way up and put the radiator cap back on. That should fix it.
