Engine light

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My engine light comes on but
the car is running fine last time
that happened my gas cap was
not on right but I checked it and
the gas caps on right and the
engine light is still on

Check for what code it is, the number will tell you what is wrong with the car.

You will most likely find it is on because the gas cap was off while the car was running and the computer thought there was an evap leak

Yes that happened bfor and I rechecked the cap and it is on correct and I shut the car off and went to turn it back on and the light still on like I said it has happened before and it was my gas cap but I have checked it and put it on there right tightened it down and it still on the light still on
