I own a 1996 Honda Accord LX white smoke poured out of the hood on the passenger side. I immediately turned around and went home-less than a 1000 feet. It will now not turn over. Thoughts?

I think any evidence must have dried-this wad a few days ago. Would the engine start if it haf been just due to being wet?

Thanks for your help Tom! Coolant leak was the likely suspect--it turned out to be a dead starter.
