1.6vtec swap

Asked by 96civic Aug 07, 2016 at 02:35 PM about the 1996 Honda Civic CX Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just got the car and it appears the have done a
1.6vtec swap but the vtec electrical is not hooked
up and I don't know anything else about it how can
I see if they replaced the wiring harness and the
ecu? I really need some help here. And if they didn't
change the harness out is there away to hook it
up?

Major job for someone without the skill set.. What year is the Vtec engine?....you'll have to invest a good 20 hours of study time learning the harnesses PCM's and other required changes before touching the Civic that's WHY they sold it.. to much for them. Spend 4-5 hrs a day on the Civic forums for about a week and decide what to do.
