My friend had a car with manual transmission that would not start, nothing happened when ignition key was turned. The problem was with a switch that prevented the car from starting when in gear, just like in the automatic transmission, it went bad and the car would not start even in neutral. Try to find out if your car has one and replaced it.

No I don't think I have one of those switch. But the car can be jump start and push start to start the car.

I may be putting the horse in front of the cart, but if the car starts by pushing it or with jumper cables maybe the battery is dead. Have you tested the battery?

The battery should be fine. It was new and now about 5- 6 months old.
