Where is the O2 sensors located in a 2000 ford expedition 4.6L?

I got this from wikianswers; There are (4) O2 sensors on your truck. If you look inside the wheel wells behind the fender liner, right about where the frame is one O2 sensor, the other is underneath the truck about half way back in relation to the transmission. If you see where the exhaust joints together, you went about 6" too far. When you start looking at the O2 sensors, they are normally numbered something like "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Bank 1 is on the passenger side; Bank 2 is on the driver's side. Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor (near the frame, between the block and the cat) and Sensor 2 is near the Y-pipe (downstream of the cat). Normally it is the upstream sensors (sensor 1) that go first. They see the harshest conditions. You will need; Oxygen Sensor Socket Anti- Seized Penetrating Oil Sometimes it will take 15 minutes or take a few hours it depends on your luck. Hope this helps
Thank you so much and my luck is no good....got all the sensors changed and was not the problem changed gas filter not the problem either got a new air filter not the problem either so I was just about ready to give up then I was looking at the vacuum lines and wouldn't you know it...after all the time and money it was a vacuum line...who would've thunk it right...lol
I admit, I didn't even consider a vacuum line as I made the mistake that they had already been eliminated. Glad you found the real problem. Sorry for all the $$$ spent learning.
Yes it wasn't cheap but hey it does run better....thank you for the info though hopefully I wont have to change anything for a long while
Salista, I know, 3 years ago but if this finds you; I have a question.How exactly did you pinpoint the vacuum line in question? Did you do test? Was is visually apparent? I've got a very similar situation and would hope to bypass the things that it isn't. :) Thanks, J
Yes I am at a loss with my 1997 Ford Eddie Bauer special edition expedition I have replaced the cats I have replaced the O2 sensors I have replaced all the spark plugs and coil packs I have replaced the EGR valve I have replaced the throttle body positioning sensor air filter oil filter you name it I have replaced it AND MY TRUCK STILL IS NOT RUNNING GOOD AT ALL. I AM GOING TO REPLACE THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK I GIVE UP I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO TRY TO GET MY TRUCK RUNNING PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE UGHHH PULLING MY HAIR OUT HERE......
