thanks...i really dont know what that is but i can probably find out!!
I agree. H22 is the best route for your accord. You can go all the way up to a small V8, if you know how to do some heavy fabricating.
The motor you have should be the F22 it's either the Dohc with non-vtec( which is easy to V-tec) or the Sohc with v-tec.. the motor swap would be perfect with any F or H type engine. The F22 engine usually comes from the Prelude. if you have the $ do it.. if not. then keep the engine and do small upgrades on it. you should happy with it either way. ~Earnie~ PS: i have the F23.. been lookin and savin.
id say to go with the H22 out of a prelude, but for it to be really good, build the motor, replace the internals, pistons, heads, cams, build the head---springs retainers everything, for a hell of a motor, could even do a Kswap. just start looking into forums and asking around
the f22 comes from an accord. the h22 comes from a prelude. all the f series motors are single cam with the exception of the f20c and f22c which are s2k motors
you should be able to get a 3.0L V-TEC in there pretty easy
you could easily swap in a B series motor they are reliable and not to expsensive, as far as motors swaps go or if you want to go all out drop a K20 in there but really any of these choices (including all the previously mentioned ones) would be good
thanks to all of you for your advice, will take them into consideration!!
like matt said you can fit a small V8 in it but itd be a lot of work. the easiest is the H22A which is a DOHC 4 cylinder and will produce more power then what you have. The H22 and F23 (which im pretty sure it was you have) main difference is the H22 is dual cam and the F23 is a single

oh a b series cant move an Accord, you need to get your learn on with Honda's
A B series CAN!..but it wouldn't be the best choice. All DOHC VTEC engines are efficient in the higher RPM's which is why they make that cool sound. They have very little bottom end torque. The heavier Accord isn't intended to be a speed demon but it dose need adequate acclleration. That's why the engines they come with have better bottom end torque. CJ is being a wise ass and not answering the question correctly. Plus...I doubt if he knows as much as he professes. He recommended a K series engine too. In an Accord...that would be a very EVIL swap and waaaay costly.
CJ...YOU are the one that needs schooling about Honda swaps!...PUTZ!
yeah, id take advice from logan here he seems to know what he is talking about
Actually...if he did as you suggests, he'd lose his bottom end. The Accord is way heavier than a prelude. That's why it has either a SOHC engine or a V-6; they both produce bottom end TORQUE which get the heavier car moving. BUT! with the loss of bottom end, it would flat haul ass AFTER it's up to speed. In reality...the performance would be a wash most likely. What you lose on the bottom end, you'd retrieve on the top end. Or, what you gain on the bottom end, you'd lose on the top end. Make sense?
