Asked by Grayp1 Nov 01, 2016 at 11:18 AM about the 1994 Honda Accord LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

94 Honda Accord LX replaced alternator. Ran fine
afterwards, now died, started up . Mechanic said it
could be main relay switch.  Prior it was losing
power and dying out before alternator.  Only oil and
battery light came on then.   Could the main trelay
switch be bad?

Yes as the mechanic suggested it could be. Most or many Hondas have 2 I believe, usually located up behind the glove box area. They control starting and fuel functions and can get very temperamental with temperature fluctuations that cause them to cut in and out as they age. You can find a world of info about this on youtube and in many honda repair forums.
