1994 honda accord overheating then dies

So my 1994 honda accord LX has been
overheating and i just changed the thermostat as i
was driving in the freeway it just died on me and
when i opend the hood i could see smoke coming
from my thermostat and it may have not been
sealed all the way and it leaked i tried to crank the
car back up but it would just choke act like it
wanted the start and just wouldnt what can i do is
the engine destroyed because of the leak or what
im not sure what it is
