#17 fuse

Asked by Burnsflat Nov 09, 2017 at 02:46 PM about the 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can't keep a good fuse in #17. Ever since that,
power windows,  interior lites, front wipers,
odometer mph, rear defrost not working.

How does the fuse blow? As soon as you put it in? If so, there is a short. Does it last a while? If so, there could be a problem with one of the systems you mentioned. Turn everything off, replace the fuse, then turn them on one by one to see when it blows. Could be one of the motors associated with the windows or wiper going bad and pulling more of a load than the fuse can handle. Process of elimination.
