if your car makes a zipping noise is it the catalyke converter or the transmission

A buzzing noise could be an exhaust heatshield, a rattle could be the catalytic converter. I zipping noise could be the transmission. Try to get Nissan to pay for a new transmission and then dump the car.

Does not sound like a converter issue. They are usually accompanied by a distinct loss of power. I lean towards a trans issue.
