Charging system

Question type: General

My son's car is saying to check charging
system. I'm sure it's due to the stereo
system he had installed but I'm just curious
if it could be something other then the
alternator. He upgraded the battery when he
installed the system (that's the advice from
the installation guy) but I'm thinking he
should have upgraded the alternator instead.  
Any thoughts would be helpful

They always start with the battery because in most cases that's enough. If his stereo amp is that big you should save your money for a future ear operation your son is sure to need later in life. Haha, anyway if you boost the alternator output I think you can build these to 200 amps remember Honda charging system wiring is almost defective when it comes from the factory so when you boost the amps boost the battery wiring as well. Use 8-10 gauge wire for the battery wire. I hope this helps. Take care.
